I am excited about today’s episode because I get to tell you my barbecue, or BBQ, story. Or, maybe my barbecue journey? Or maybe my barbecue hike I’m on? Whatever you want to call it, I’m telling you about it today.
As with anything, learning has to happen right? And that learning has to happen when cooking barbecue too. There is always something new to learn. Just when you think you have it figured out, you burn something or use the wrong wood, etc.
Tip of the Week: This week's tip is to know there is always something to learn, there is definitely a learning curve and don’t get frustrated if you make a mistake. Don’t freak out if you burn the turkey. It is just a turkey. Don’t get frustrated and give up when you waste money and make rib jerky.
And be prepared, because you will never live that down even if you become a professional pitmaster. And remember the conversation I had a long time ago, “Is this your first mistake? No. Is this your last mistake? No. Then own it and move on. Tomorrow is another day.”
Call-to-Action: Email me with the subject line “my bbq story” to
podcast@lifearoundthepit.com with your barbecue story or barbecue mistake and then be watching for that to come back around later down the road. I would love to collect these and put them together for others to see.
